Several of our students are working with Girl Scout Troop 16122 to gather art supplies for Camp Twin Lakes.
What is Camp Twin Lakes?
Camp Twin Lakes is a life-changing camp experience for thousands of Georgia’s children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges. Camp Twin Lakes provides week-long summer camps and year-round weekend retreats at three fully accessible and medically-supportive campsites, day camps, and through hospital-based Camp-To-Go programs.
What they Need
Troop 16122 is collecting art supplies to help out Camp Twin Lakes. They need many supplies but here are the ones that are needed most:
- Colored Pencils
- Glue Bottles
- Construction Paper
- Popsicles Sticks
- Watercolor Paints

We need all parents to send in to their student’s homeroom teacher a self-addressed/stamped business sized envelope for end of year mailing. This envelope needs to have your mailing address written neatly on the envelope and a regular stamp attached ready to mail.
If you have more than one student, please send in a separate envelope for each student.
Awtrey Middle School’s 21st Annual Cultural Extravaganza
Date: March 5, 2016
Come join all the fun and excitement! Students will have booths set up representing many of the world’s countries. Besides colorful displays and artifacts from these countries native foods will also be available to try!
The fun starts at 10:00 am and last until 2:00 pm! Live entertainment will also take place during the event!
Students who attend Awtrey may pick up a sheet in the cafeteria lobby and visit three displays and have a chance at winning a cash prize!

Don’t forget to sign up and support the Awtrey Middle School Foundation and the Kennesaw / Big Shanty Foundation with our annual Spring Into Education 5K Race. The race will be held on Saturday, March 12, at Awtrey Middle School and North Cobb High School. ONLINE REGISTRATION!

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF OUR THREE SCHOOL FOUNDATIONS?
The foundations were established to enhance educational opportunities that otherwise may not be part of the schools’ program. Each school foundation funds specific school priorities. The foundations work congruently with the administration and PTSA to make our children’s schools absolutely the best they can be. Purpose of this special race for our community: Funds raised from the Spring into Education race will be reinvested back into each of the three schools to support local school priorities.
