2015 TOTY – Ms Bailey

Congratulations Ms Tonia Bailey our 2015 Teacher of the Year for Awtrey!

Awtrey’s Teacher of the Year 2015

Selected from among their peers, Cobb Schools’ Teachers of the Year are among the best and most celebrated educators in our district. Highlighted for their expert use of instructional and academic strategies, the list of TOTYs represents Cobb’s most distinguished and well-respected professionals. They are known as teacher leaders, tireless champions of their students and mentors and coaches of their fellow educators and staff.

Each year, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce “Give Our Schools a Hand” program holds a celebration honoring all the 2015-16 Teachers of the Year from Cobb County Schools.  The 27th anniversary celebration culminated with the community pep rally on October 27, 2015 at Roswell Street Baptist Church. Teachers of the Year began their day with a special breakfast, then attended a pep rally with hundreds of students, teachers, family members, and friends cheering for the honorees.

Awtrey’s Teacher of the Year, Tonia Bailey, was among the honorees and celebrated the honor with her mother, husband, Roger  Evanson, and sons Miles and Max. In addition to family members, each honoree was able to select a group of students to attend the Pep Rally.

Ms. Bailey-Evanson was delighted to be selected as Awtrey’s 2015-16 Teacher of the Year and explained that after 25 years in education, teaching remains her PASSION. She enjoys teaching and interacting with her students in the classroom as well as serving as the School Leadership Intern (SLI). Living in the Awtrey community enables her to develop strong relationships with the families she serve.
We salute Ms. Tonia Bailey-Evanson!

AdvancED Parent Survey

We are asking each parent to take a few moments to fill out our AdvancED Parent Survey linked below.

Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet.  All parents should be encouraged to participate in the AdvancED Parent Survey because the data will be used to inform the school and the district of parent’s opinions. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to AdvancED’s eProve for analysis.  Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.

This survey will no longer be available after April 1, 2016. So please take a few moments to complete the survey prior to then.
